Weekly Learning

For all of you who have toddlers, you know that repetition and consistency when teaching them is key! I've decided to set up the "Weekly Learning" sections into each their own post. By focusing on only one topic each week (with of course a lot of reviewing along the way), our Toddlers in Training will be able to focus on learning and solidifying lets say, colors one week, or farm animals the next week, etc. . . without feeling totally overwhelmed with all the information that's out there in this world.

Each week I'm going to do a new theme with my toddler and then post it to the blog. So this will definitely be a work in progress!

Also, the whole point of the activities in the "Weekly Learning" section is to keep it simple. I'll post more in depth activities on the "Toddler Activities" page.

We want learning to be fun and exciting, using a variety of methods to teach our toddlers! I like to do 5 things each week. And you can of course do the days in any order you want. Here is a quick preview of what each week will look like:

Day 1: Songs
(links to videos/songs or ideas of songs that relate to the theme of the week)

Day 2: Activity
(a simple activity, as easy as getting on the floor and drawing the different animals or shapes with your toddler)

Day 3: Get Out
(ideas of places you can go or things you can do outside the house to help practice the week's theme)

Day 4: Activity
(another activity day - toddlers seem to never get sick of doing something new)

 Day5: Library
(Take a trip to the library or read some books you already have at home. We'll even suggest some of our favorite books on the week's theme.)

If you have any ideas on a weekly topic you'd like to see on my Toddlers in Training blog, leave a comment or shoot me an email! *
